The Siberian Husky is a beautiful and down to earth dog. This breed is equipped with an amazing coat. This coat has two layers, the top layer is long, rough, and repels water and snow. The under layer is soft and fluffy. It keeps them warm in up to 50 below zero and helps them stay cool in the summer. Needless to say this dog needs to be brushed 1-3 times a week. Huskies coat color can range from pure white to solid black. Their eyes can be blue, green, brown, amber, and two different colors. Huskies are very high energy dogs and they need lots of exercise. They must be on a leash or in an enclosed area or they will run away any chance they get. They like to howl and only bark when necessary. Siberians are a nice fit for homes with children. As born pack dogs, they enjoy being part of a family and get on well with other dogs, but don’t like being left alone for long periods of time. Positive training methods like clicker training works very well with this smart breed. New owners shouldn't bother picking up a "Beware of Dog '' sign—Siberians love to make new friends!
